Detour
    {Graduation Project}

Detour is an anti-guidebook that uncovers the unsafe spaces of central Stockholm, told through anonymous stories from women aged 18 to 65. The project explores gendered experiences of safety, sparking discussion and raising awareness.

Blending humor and satire, Detour challenges the traditional guidebook format. The design contrasts idealized visuals with unsettling content, creating discomfort and encouraging reflection on public spaces. A mix of original photography and Google Street View images heightens this unease.

The digital version invites users to share stories and mark unsafe spots, extending the project’s impact beyond its 2024 release. Detour has also been distributed to urban planning offices, advocating for safer, more inclusive cities.
